Input of the Federation for peace and conciliation (IFPC)  into the movement of the supportes of peace and conciliation in modern times (1992-present time)

Federation for Peace and Conciliation (IFPC)  - is the most broad  peacesuipporting organisatiion of the public character that originate from August 1949. Its international statute let it operate as in Russis as in other CIS countris and Baltic states and the world over. As organisation that inherited all positive traditions of the Soviet Peace committee IFPC on many basic elements differs in qulity from the predecessor.

IFPC is an international non-governmental organization, the assignee of the Soviet   Peace Committee, was established on February 4, 1992 by the Extraordinary Conference of Peace Supporters.

IFPC comprises organizations representing Russia , other countries of the CIS as well as the Baltic states . These are peacemaking, environ men tal and other public organizations representing various strata of population, people with different ideological, philosophic, religious and political convictions. FPC and its member organizations advocate the spread of civil peace, ethnic reconciliation and public concord, disarma men t, just and secure peace throughout the world, protection   of human rights and freedoms, and environ men tal safety.

Among the active members in Russian Federation are Russian Peace Committee, Moscow Peace Committee, St. Petersburg Council for Peace and Conciliation, Human Rights Information Center, Samanta Smith Children’s Diplomacy Center, Center for International Projects, Center of Political and International Studies, Legal Education Association, “Generals and Admirals for Peace and Security” Group, Association of Military-Political and Military-Historical Studies, International Peace to the Oceans Committee) and others.

IFPC operates, being financed from voluntary donations, sponsor contributions, economic and other projects.

IFPC has a consultative status at the UN Economic and Social Council.
